Bangladesh Open University Bss 1st Year Exam Routine 2013

Which is the best book of political science for a BA student in their 1st year?

There could be 2 scenariosYou have studied pol sci in 12th ( I mean you have basic understanding of all parts given in NCERT)You didn't study pol sci in 12th.In any case read NCERT(11th & 12th) because in the first year the syllabus resembles to that of 12th.I am from DU so I will recommend books according to its syllabus. In first sem here we have Understanding political theory for which R.C Vermani and R. Bhargawa and NCERT should be enough. But Political theory has understanding parts so you can attend online lectures also. Done that? Want more?Go to DU's website download the syllabus. See the essential reading ? Go and read all recommended books. By now you can write a research paper :)For Constitutional government and democracy in India D.D Basu and NCERT should be enough. For 2nd sem political theory concepts and debates O.P Gaba and R.BhargawaAnd for Political Process in India R. Kothari should be enough. Read few but good books. To me the best way is to read all the books recommended in esssential reading. In Delhi you can easily get all recommended books bonded at one place. And here comes the final the ultimate, there may be some reason for you will not be able to study whole sem but still want to do good in exams. Then my friend last year question banks are for you. Solve as many as you can for last 10 years because 75% questions come directly from there.

How many O level subjects are required to take in Pakistan to be accepted in college?

The government of Pakistan requires students to take 3 subjects: Pakistan Studies, Urdu, and Islamiyat. You have a choice between Urdu-Lit (A) and Urdu-Lang (B). You need these 3 subjects to be accepted in Pakistani colleges, unless you can claim to be a foreign student. Then, you will need to provide a valid passport/visa to support this.Other subjects that are required are Math and Engish. That makes a total of 5 compulsory subjects. Most colleges will require a minimum of an additional 3 subjects. This is because the Higher Education Commission (HEC) equates O Level results to Matric scores using a formula, which requires 8 subjects. Any less than 8 subjects will give you a low score, and you won't be accepted at colleges. Not all optional O Level subjects are created equal. In various years HEC has announced that they will give half credit to certain optional O Level subjects, like Additional Math, and Human and Social Biography. Not all colleges use the HEC rules on half credit, though, but it's enough to discourage many students from choosing those subjects, and schools from offering them. Basically, with half credit, an A* O Level grade will equate to 50/100, barely a pass.Which subjects you took in O Levels will also effect which colleges/universities you can apply to. Someone who took Biology, Chemistry and Physics as their optional subjects can apply to any college, but someone who took Fine Arts, Food and Nutrition, Biology or Commerce, Economics, Finance won't be accepted at Medical Schools, for example.

How do I calculate CGPA?

Calculating CGPAThough your CGPA is written on the report card, it is easy to calculate it on your own. Here’s how you can do it.every grade have some fix credit or we can say grade points .Add your grade points in the main five subjects, and then divide it by 5.For example, if your grade points for the five main subjects are:Subject 1: 8; Subject 2: 9; Subject 3: 7; Subject 4: 9; and Subject 5: 9Step 1: Add the grade points: 8+9+7+9+9 = 42Step 2: Divide it by 542/5 = 8.5So, your CGPA is 8.5.
