How to view my members email address in yahoo groups?

Member's alternate email address, verified and set as primary is not showing as primary in the group list.?

I moderate a group that has been around for about 14 years. Occasionally some of our older members want to update their email address but can't remember their passwords and for whatever reasons, Yahoo Groups fails to recognize their profile ID and will not send them a password reset. It is my belief that Yahoo "lost" a bunch of profile ids on one of their many conversions over the last few years.

When that happens, I usually advise our member to create a brand new profile, which of course, requires them to define a new @yahoo.com email account. Many of those members would prefer to receive email at their primary, non-yahoo email address, so I provide instructions to them on how to add alternate email addresses, verify them and then set them as primary for our group.

I have one member in particular right now who, as far as I can tell, has done everything perfectly. I've walked thru her Yahoo account settings with her and her Gmail account IS verified and set as primary. But when I go into my moderator account, however, and pull up the member list, her account is listed with the new @yahoo.com email address which she just created. I can't find a reason for this and she is completely frustrated.

Has anyone else ever encountered this, and if so, is there a solution? Also, has anyone else had issues with older Yahoo profile ids not being recognized, and if so, is there a reason and solution for this?

Thanks to all in advance for any ideas or suggestions?

Android app for yahoo groups?

Hi Nils,

At this time, there are no mobile applications for Yahoo! Groups, and access to groups using a mobile device is not supported. I apologize for any inconvenience this causes. If you're unable to sign in to Yahoo! Groups using the browser on your phone/tablet, please visit the site via your home computer or laptop.

I realize that this may not be the most satisfying answer to your question, and I apologize again for that. If you'd like to provide feedback on this issue to our Product Team, feel free to post to the Yahoo! Groups Suggestion Board at:

Can a Facebook Page join a Facebook Group?

Late to the game on this one but recent changes mean that you can now link a page (not a personal page though) to a group. It took a bit of looking around the internet but I managed to find this link https://thedigiterati.com/link-f... I did this with my three Facebook groups, The Artist Hangout, The Artists Exchange, and The Artists Directory and linked them to my own business page as I am an artist and blogger. In short, here's how it's done. 1.Go to your Page and click Settings2.Click on Edit Page3.Scroll down to look at the tabs4.Click on "Add a Tab" at the bottom5.Select "Groups"6.Now drag the Groups Tab up the list7.Click on Settings. The url shows where all the Groups connected8.Go back to the Page and see how your Groups tab now shows up in the left hand nav9.Now (this is important) click on the Groups tab to tell Facebook which Group to link to your Page10.Either choose your Group from what Facebook surfaces or, if your Group isn't shown, click "Link Your Group"11.Now your Group is linked to your Page12.Now when you write in the Group you can do so as your Page rather than as your personal Profile13.Click on the drop down in the top right to choose your posting personaHope this helps! As I say, it's a recent change but stumbled across this thread and thought it would be a good idea to make people aware as I haven't seen much about it either on Facebook or elsewhere online.

I have heard that grouply.com is accused of identy theft. Please tell me more so I can protect my groups. thx

IDENTIFY THEFT AT GROUPLY.COM

There is a message going out to different Yahoo Groups advertising
and suggesting that you join a new group called GROUPLY. This group
claims to help manage all your Yahoo groups and you will get a
summary, at the end of the day, telling you what is going on in all
your groups.

IF YOU JOIN THIS GROUP, they use your Yahoo ID and password to
post "mass mailings" (can be junk, can be porn) and send them to
anyone, and since it's YOUR ID they are using, others will think it is
coming from you.

For instance, you could get an email CLAIMING that it came from
"amystica3" Yahoo group and it really is not from this group. I could
get an email, with this mass mailing, claiming it came from me, and it
would NOT have been from me.

Again, IF YOU HAVE JOINED THIS GROUP called "GROUPLY" IMMEDIATELY
leave Grouply. Then go into your account at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups and change your password. Some
groups have posted that this will help. Unsubbing from that group
won't make a difference (but I think you will want to then possibly
rejoin) but you DO NEED TO CHANGE YOUR YAHOO PASSWORD.

By joining this group you have also exposed all your groups, group
members and group leaders to hacking of their emails and group
information.

Because of this problem, some groups are removing all members with
a email grouply.com. This is the only way to protect all the members.

This is how Identity theft gets going. They now have your real
email, your yahoo emails, any emails listed in your yahoo group and
can mail as you in and out of the yahoo groups.

I hope you understand what is happening and will take precautions
to protect your Yahoo ID.

I have also heard that grouply.com sells your information once
they have it.
