How can one set incoming POP3 mail in Gmail to update in real time?

By nature POP3 email isn't real-time (Pushed), but instead "fetched" at certain time intervals. Since there is no way to set the interval for fetching POP3 in Gmail, you are at its mercy. However, if you go to Labs, you can add a feature that allows you to manually fetch email:If you want to manually configure shorter intervals, you can try to install this script/plugin, depending on which browser you're using: http://www.danielslaughter.com/p...Only problem with this is that the it's browser specific script. This means that you're dependent on using that particular browser open in order for the script to run.If you're on mobile, for example, and need real-time POP3 fetching, you're going to have the leave the browser open on your desktop perpetually so that it fetches, then after a little awhile, it will be reflected in your mobile client. If your desktop browser is closed, then Gmail will still default back to the 60 minute fetch rate.
