Why does Yahoo Answers change the category I choose for my questions?
It is not Yahoo that is changing the category of your question. Actually, the culprits are Level 7 users who are abusing their privilege of being able to move questions around. Just move the question back using the Edit Category button, and hope that they will get bored and stop. If this continues (over a period of time or when you ask more questions), you can report this abuse by telling Yahoo that you think that someone is moving your questions to harass you, and they are known to give hefty penalties to those who are found to be abusing the Edit Category feature. computer is the one which does infinitely faster than human, but without any thinking power. it does fast what we fed. there are lot of ambiguities & bugs in the program. only human can think and decide. so you will have to checkup and correct it if it chooses a wrong category. http://in.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind...
Has Geography or Y!A gone completely berserk?
Pretty much anything that has a "where" in it will get recommended to geography. The leaning ladders comes from legions of simpletons mixing up geography and geometry. Y!A's suggested category is influenced to a degree by where people choose to place their questions, and now it thinks many geometry questions belong in geography, just like it now thinks anything with the word 2012 belongs in Astronomy and Space after legions of simpletons asking many questions per day about the Nibiru hoax.
By not sending emails to appeal our BS violations, isn't Yahoo not holding up their end of the deal?
You are 100%s correct. Yahoo has not been living up to their end of the bargain. If they change the rules they are supposed to tell us. But you do have another option to appeal if you have the information. Yes, you can use the alternate appeal form no matter what someone says here. Agan today I won an appeal when my answer was deleted and no email. I lost my glasses somewhere?
The other AM I could not find my glasses on the dresser where I always keep them. I searched and searched. Hubby moved the dresser out, we looked behind and under. I shook out my blankets, we looked under the bed. I have torn apart the bathroom and the bedroom, searching. Even looked pretty well in the rest of the house. Can't find them. I did find an old pair of prescription sunglasses, 2 prescriptions ago. These are better than nothing, but the house sure looks dark. I can drive in our small town with the light traffic, but I sure couldn't in the city, with the heavier traffic. Yesterday I was wearing a black tee, and these sunglasses. Had my hair down. Looked into my mirror and Ozzy Osborne looked out at me. Sheesh! I look bad in these things! Either I absent mindedly set them down in an unusual place, or someone took them. 3 suspects possible. 1, Hubby. But he's never taken anything of mine in 48 years of marriage. Why would he now choose to take my glasses? I don't take his. 2. granddaughter, age 11. But she had no apparent reason to sneak into grandma's bedroom in the middle of the night and snatching glasses off the dresser. 3. the cat. Not likely, but possible. He has been known to jump up on things and move things to other places. Which of these suspects would you choose? And more importantly, where would you look for the glasses? I have an appointment for next week to get new glasses. It will be 2 or 3 weeks before I can get them. Very inconvenient.
